My Vitreous, pencil drawing 2011. A sketch based on a posterior vitreous detachment in my right eye. That eye also has a 20 year old cataract. The floater is called a ‘Weiss Ring’<\/a> and is quite amazing to look through. It’s like a mesh veil with a dark brown circular area that has radiating spokes, partially obstructing vision in that eye. I’m working on a new painting that is based on this experience, while listening to John Tavener’s<\/a> ‘The Protecting Veil’, with YoYo Ma on cello.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
