The Amish have the sweetest cantaloupes and the manager of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westchestergrowersmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">West Chester Growers market<\/a>, Paul Hauser, has the most luscious peaches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/peaches_melons.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-478\" title=\"Peaches and melons\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/peaches_melons.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>these are my own tomatoes. Cherry 100&#8217;s and a few heirlooms whose names I can&#8217;t remember. One is Arkansas Traveler. I pick them green and they ripen on the sunporch or inside where the bugs won&#8217;t devour them. The cherries are ripening on a daily basis on the vines.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/cherry100sheirlooms.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-479\" title=\"Cherry100\\'s and Heirlooms\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/cherry100sheirlooms.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>and as you can see,\u00c2\u00a0I let them have their way in the garden. No weeding, no fertilizing, I offer freedom to spread.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/arkansastraveler.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-480\" title=\"Arkansas Traveler\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/arkansastraveler.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/monstercherries.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-481\" title=\"Monster Cherries\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/monstercherries.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you look closely, you&#8217;ll be able to see a bumblebee and some other bees intent on these flower buds. I can&#8217;t remember what they are, but all the wasps love them too. <a href=\"http:\/\/bugguide.net\/node\/view\/5688\" target=\"_blank\">Blue winged wasps<\/a> &#8211;or at least this is what I think they are- seem to be having a great time out there swarming around all the nectar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/bees.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-482\" title=\"Bees hard at work\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/bees.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>only one basil plant so no pesto this year, but a lot of nice salads and omelettes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/basil.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-485\" title=\"Basil\" src=\"https:\/\/www.furiousdreams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/basil.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"414\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>farmers markets are bringing in summer fruits now.
